36th Street from Australian Avenue to North Flagler Avenue
This project called for the proposed reconfiguration of the existing roadway at 36th Avenue from North Australian Avenue to North Flagler Drive to incorporate bike lanes. The scope includes two pedestrian bridges over the Carver Canal on either side of the existing bridge and pedestrian scale lighting along the corridor. All existing railroad crossings and ramps will be brought up to ADA standards.
Scope of Services
The Merchant Strategy (“TMS”) was hired as a subconsultant to Erdman Anthony to provide public involvement by communicating with all interested parties, groups and government organizations regarding the development of the project. Sharon J. Merchant, as Public Involvement Manager, will develop the CAP, oversee all public outreach efforts and provided QAQC. Public Involvement Specialist, Cheryl Scott, will develop collateral materials.
Public Involvement Activity: Community Awareness Plan
TMS will prepare a CAP Level 2 for review and approval by the client to notify the public of the proposed construction and anticipated impacts. The CAP addresses timeframes and a schedule for design and construction with tentative dates for each public involvement activity throughout the duration of the project. The CAP outlines the benefits of the project and will be updated periodically throughout the duration of the project.
Public Involvement Activity: Notification Letters and Flyers
TMS will develop meeting notifications for one public meeting and up to three agency meetings.
Public Involvement Activity: Stakeholder Database
TMS will identify all property owners, tenants, places of worship and businesses within 300 feet of the project corridor to assemble a mailing stakeholder database. This will be continually updated throughout the life of the project.
Public Involvement Activity: Meeting Attendance
TMS will staff one public meeting and provide a summary of meeting notes and attendee comments. TMS will staff up to three agency meetings. We will summarize meeting notes and attendee comments.
